2010 had proved to be a big year! I had two trips to Denmark – and I was having much more success with Magnum. For all the uncertainty over Kert, it had been well worth it to learn what I had.
Now in the November of 2010 – and again in March 2011, we were having our very own gathering of Kert’s followers, just an hour away from where I lived!!
As I have said before, some great friendships had been formed – and the Aussies continued it on. We were to have a Body Awareness weekend at the home of Andrew and Vicki. It was to be taught by Jan – Kert’s newly qualified body awareness coach!!!

It was wonderful to see everyone, and also to do the exercises in a group. There were many good conversations. Also in attendance were some people who had not attended, but who were interested to go to a course. One of these was friend Patty who had become interested in what we had learnt.

During the first gathering, a Skype call was arranged with Kert so he could talk to the whole group. We chatted for some time – and then he announced a new course. He was buying another farm on the island and announced he would be running a one year course – The One Year Mountain Island Education. You could attend with or without a horse. At the end of the course the students would be coaches – they would have learnt all aspects of being with horses…
Wow!…..
There was a hush from the group – what an opportunity!!!
We then spent the rest of the weekend thinking about that – and some were seriously considering it. Vicki and Andrew decided they would pack up, take one of their horses – and their dog – to Denmark. They have family in Europe – and they also speak several languages so their transition to Europe would be relatively smooth – except for the ordeal of also moving a horse and dog and finding accommodation for their horses in Australia!!!!
By the second gathering, they were well on their way to finalising details!! They left in May 2011 and were to start the course in the September. Andrew has a blog which details their adventure to Europe.
What was so nice about this group was that most of us had spent time with Kert. We all understood the conflicting thoughts associated with him – inspiration, motivation, awareness, happiness, understanding vs fear, dominance, obedience…
We had seen magic unfold when he worked with a horse – we wanted that!!!
We all had him on a pedestal – we all felt that life was more exciting somehow with him around – even if it meant feeling fearful at times. He was like an addictive drug!!!
We were all under the spell!!!!!
COMING UP – THE MASTER’S PROJECT – CONVERSATIONS WITH KERT…
