Kert talked a lot about ‘destiny’. What is destiny? To different people it means different things. It can be described as God – or a universal force – bigger than us. It can be called fate, future, providence etc.
In Kert’s eyes – all of us are living in the chaotic ‘brown world’ so we are off the ‘spiral of destiny’. If we can’t move to the ordered ‘green world’ – the world of the old tribes, where there is calm and order, we will never live on the spiral of destiny. And if we don’t, we have no hope with our horses – and that is why he is successful – because he is living on the spiral – and we aren’t. So his job is to teach us how to get there.
The teachings consist of lots of self awareness – examining all our layers – that is why he spends so much time in ‘therapy’ sessions with a particular person he says. It may seem harsh to us – but it is always a ‘teaching’ he says. When the person ‘sees’ it they can begin to change – and they will thank him for it.
In relation to the experience with Cody, Kert said his owner, Karen, needed to look at herself and the influence on her horses. He related back to the problems in the arena with Cody and the two stallions. He said this was a sign from destiny that all was not right.
I struggled to follow what he was saying, but I understood it to mean that there were deeper layers that needed to be uncovered and this is why the work with Cody was such a struggle.
The conversation sure was confusing and then suddenly Kert was talking about the problems with Andrew and Vicki before the course started! Refer to this post Part 35 – Alarm Bells!!
He referred to Andrew’s protest about the change of venue and said Vicki and Andrew were supposedly spreading information which was wrong. He said in order to stay on the spiral he had to ‘provoke’ the explosion (the argument).
Kert referred to a money change from Euro to Swiss franc – to pay for the course – that he had to do this. He said ” Sometimes you have to do these things to stay on the spiral. Destiny used Andrew and Vicki as tools ……and they will never, EVER forget the chance to do the one year course.”
I was so sad to hear him say that – to bring up Andrew and Vicki……. to make them sound somehow evil. I had known how much they were looking forward to doing the course.
I certainly didn’t like how ‘destiny’ seemed to be used as an excuse for everything.
But at that stage I was still numb, still quiet – laying low.
I didn’t trust my own thoughts.
I had never met a person like Kert – I didn’t really feel like I knew anything any more!

And we never, ever did forget ‘the chance to do the one year course’, but in a positive way! By not doing this course, we were able to travel extensively over the next years throughout Europe, attend some of the most amazing clinics (such as the Nevzorov Haute Ecole Seminar with Michael Bevilacqua in Canada), meet some amazing horse people like Frederic Pignon, study Equine Touch, MSFC Saddle Fitting and Saddle Repair, find Andrew’s mare Pip, live in beautiful southern Spain, rescue three adorable Spanish pups, and the list goes on!!
I am grateful every day for what ‘ destiny’ gave us since we left Australia in 2011!
