Four horses! I never dreamt I’d have four horses ……. or did I? Something dawned on me quite a while after Saadi arrived.
I was going through my old journals from 1999/2000 – through some of my writings while having my ‘crisis’. If you don’t know what I’m talking about – please return to this blog post Part 9 – Breakdown, Enlightenment – and Memories from the Past ……
For me, a big part of this breakdown was to enable me to remember what I really loved – and that was horses! I had forgotten!!! So in my writings I also drew pictures. Sometimes it would be stick figures representing something – or I would draw how I felt – and I’d take it all to psychologist Joy. I was getting deeper into who I really was – and what I wanted – and that was to have horses.
But it was more than that. I had realised that the horses would be like another family – and I drew a picture… here it is!
And what did I notice about this picture?? I had drawn four horses and called it My Family! Well!! I had forgotten about that drawing!!!
It all makes sense now! These four were destined to be my horse family – to be loved unconditionally. It doesn’t really matter what they can and can’t do – they are more than just horses. They are my ‘horse children’.
So really – everything was perfect – as it should be – or as it was destined to be. But of course that doesn’t mean it was going to be easy. And it wasn’t.. But how fulfilling!!! How absolutely right it felt!!
2009 had turned out to be a very eventful year – and it wasn’t over!
I had booked to go to Equitana – an annual horse event in Australia. That year it was to be held in Melbourne at the end of the year. A couple of friends were going as well. I had already been to an Equitana years before in Brisbane. It was so exciting – particularly that the Parelli’s were there.
This time though, I was more discerning. I wanted to look at all the different trainers at the show. I wanted to see how their horses interacted with them.
So I had come a long way in a few years!!!
COMING UP – EQUITANA – AN AWAKENING…..
